Happenings at Tribeca Clayworks

Come see Tribeca Clayworks end of semester children’s art show at Whipper Snippers, 106 Reade St. Jan. 28 Wed, 5- 7 pm. Student work ages 3 – 15.

Registration for spring classes:

Ages 3-15, Clay classes, drawing classes and Sat. Family Clay Day.

For Clay Day come paint bisqueware or work with wet clay. Bring the whole family or come by yourself. Make a reservation or walk in. Saturdays 11:30 to 2:30

Clay classes:

“Baby and me” for ages 3-4; Prek ages 4-5 ; and after school, Mon-Friday for ages 4 to 15. On Saturday there is a basic drawing class for ages 8–14. Adult clay class on Tues from 6-7:30 Classes are held at 19 Hudson St. Studio 500 between Reade and Duane. For information call Susan Kay, 212-349-2009.

New jazz series at Tribeca Performing Arts

On February 9, the Tribeca Performing Arts Center at the Borough of Manhattan Community College will present the Strickland twins – Marcus and EJ – in concert as part of “Jazz in Progress,” a new music series that presents jazz as interpreted by young performers. The Strickland twins are strongly influenced by hip hop, spoken word, world music and other forms and incorporate all into this three part-series that runs until May 10. Neo-soul singer Lizz Wright and avant-garde trumpeter Tom Harrell are their special guests on February 9. Shows begin each night at 7pm in Theater 2. Tickets are $10 general / $8 students & seniors. Each concert concludes with an organized jam session featuring young, emerging jazz and contemporary artists. $5 admission for jam participants. BOX OFFICE: (212) 220.1460.
